As Panhandle homeowners recover from Hurricane Sally, experts are warning residents to take the time to properly research contractors to avoid falling victims to scams.
The Better Business Bureau serving Northwest Florida is warning residents who have been affected by the storm Sally to beware of out-of-town “storm chasers” and contractors soliciting business.
Tips to avoid falling prey to contractor scam:
►Before you hire, check out the company/contractor at bbb.org. Also search the company/contractor online, adding the word “complaint,” “reviews” or “scam” after the name for different search results.
