Remodelers Showcase will open doors to 43 homes

Most Minnesotans are spending a lot more time at home these days, getting well acquainted with its comforts — and its shortcomings.

If your home could use some improvements to function better or just feel more enjoyable, next weekend offers an opportunity to get ideas and inspiration by seeing how other Twin Cities homeowners have remodeled their dwellings.

The Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase, Oct. 2-4, will open the doors to 43 recently remodeled homes around the Twin Cities.

In addition to perennially popular projects like kitchen and bath makeovers, the tour will showcase some projects of special interest during the pandemic, including home offices and spaces for outdoor socializing that help extend the season as the weather cools, such as porches, patios and a rustic industrial “man shed” with a commercial-style door (R16 in Hopkins by Great Northern Builders).

How 2 CNY girls lacrosse players lost showcase seasons but still found college homes

Syracuse, N.Y. — As imposing as the hurdles put up by the coronavirus have been for high school athletes the past few months, the career momentum crafted by Gracie Britton and Fran Tortora has been powerful enough to plow right through them.

Britton and Tortora, both attackmen, are two of the best young girls lacrosse players in Section III. They established themselves as Division I college prospects during their freshman high school seasons, Britton at CBA and Tortora at Cicero-North Syracuse.

Both were counting on the most important resume-building showcases of their high school careers to burnish their credentials during sophomore seasons and subsequent summers. Showcase of Homes TV dates announced

The Saratoga Showcase of Homes has moved from an in-person, live event to a TV format.

Liz Bishop of CBS-6 News will host an one-hour program featuring Beechwood Homes, Bella Home Builders, Belmonte Builders, Caruso Home Builders, Degraff-Bloom Custom Builders, Heritage Custom Builders, Kodiak Construction, McPadden Builders, The Earth Source Company, The West Saratoga Condos, Whitbeck Construction & Witt Construction.

The program will air on multiple dates: At 12:30 Saturday on CW Channel 15; 1 p.m. Sunday on Channel 6; 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3 on Channel 6; 12:30 p.m. Oct. 4 on CW Channel 15; 1:30 p.m. Oct. 10 on Channel 6; and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 11 on CW Channel 15.

Proceeds from the event benefit  Rebuilding Together Saratoga County and Habitat for Humanity of Northern Saratoga, Warren & Washington Counties. Donate on the Showcase website.
