The 75-year-old property sales company is now handling real estate listings north of the Red River.
“We are thrilled to offer those looking to buy or sell in Oklahoma the same great service we have long been known for in North Texas,” President and CEO Chris Kelly said in a statement.
Ebby Halliday operates out of two dozen offices in North Texas, including close to the Oklahoma border in Grayson County.
“2020 has been a significant year of growth as we open new offices in Cedar Hill, Prosper and Forney, and as we expand into the Oklahoma market to serve the needs of our valued clients,” Kelly said.
Putting money in your pocket only makes sense if you’re going to be able to hold on to those funds.
2020 is one for the record books. The unemployment rate hit record highs, while interest rates hit record lows. The stock market rose to record highs, while the hospitality industry struggled through record-low demand.
You might expect that the uncertainty and recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic would have spurred the worst year ever for the housing market. However, the combination of limited numbers of homes for sale and low mortgage rates have pushed home prices up. According to Redfin, the median four-week home sales price on Sept. 13 was up 13% from 2019. If home prices in your area have surged, you may be tempted to cash in. Before you call a realtor, make sure selling is the right thing to do.
Q: What obstacles have you encountered while selling homes in the mountains?

I was showing a house under construction to some clients. There were contractors in the house working, but they had left their lunch in the living space. We walked in and it was not one bear, but three bears, in the house eating their lunch. Literally three huge bears, in the house. We screamed, we ran and jumped in the car. I think it was a mama and two cubs, but they were not small cubs. They were large.
Finally the contractors saw them somehow, or maybe heard us scream, and kind of shoed them out. They meandered out, one by one, and went on their merry way. It was crazy. In the middle of the day. We hung out and waited for them to leave and then we
The housing market continues to defy gravity. Sales of existing homes rose more than 10% last month compared to a year ago, hitting their highest level since December 2006, according to the National Association of Realtors. It’s all about low interest rates and intense competition for available homes.
And now, more than ever, people are relying on online platforms to search for — and even buy — houses. And that opens the door for artificial intelligence to play a bigger role, like using computer vision to create real estate listings based on photos. I spoke with Christopher Geczy, a professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania who teaches about real estate and insurance technology. The following is an edited transcript of our conversation.

Christopher Geczy: What artificial intelligence and specifically computer vision offer is the potential to refine a set of choices,
If you’re trying to decide what to make and sell online, woodworking projects are often dismissed because many people don’t feel that they have the skills necessary to do these types of crafts. Contrary to that belief, there are a significant number of woodworking projects that are easy to do and require little to no prior experience or skills.
Plywood can be purchased at various thicknesses and is a great starting material for novice woodworkers. Measuring and cutting is very easy. In fact, many of the home improvement stores will cut the plywood for you. You can use pieces of plywood to make model houses, simple trinket boxes, birdhouses, photo frames, mirror frames, and much more. You can also cut plywood into simple shapes and paint it as Christmas ornaments, door hangers, house address numbers, decorative sayings for the kitchen or home and more.
Granite is a very hard type of rock from the igneous class. It is a common material in building and construction because of its durability. This property also makes it a perfect material for many home improvement endeavors. But during home selling, will the addition of granite on some house parts help sell it?
Yes, if target market is from the younger segment of buyers.
Granite is recently considered as an appealing aesthetic addition to younger homebuyers. Yet, remember that the simpler variants are what they prefer more than the so-called taste-specific kinds. With this, the type chosen as kitchen countertops is already a hint on whether your house will be chosen over your neighbor’s space.
Yes, because it increases home value.
Capitalizing on its durability, anything made of this stone is generally considered to last for longer periods. As an addition to the kitchen, it is a great choice … Read More
Minimalist homes are becoming more and more popular these days for a good reason. These homes emphasize simplicity, serenity, and a relaxing atmosphere-characteristics that many people in this generation are looking for owing to the reality that the outside world can be messy and stressful. Most people want to think of their homes as a refuge from the hassle and bustle of the city life and a minimalist home gives them exactly what they want. If you want to sell a minimalist home, these tips can help you get the sale.
1. Find the right buyers.
When selling a certain type of house, it only makes sense that you pitch it to people who would most likely buy it. People’s tastes in houses vary, so you have to pinpoint who are most likely to buy a minimalist house. Here are some of the potential buyers to look for:
Have you ever considered why two, somewhat similar houses, are listed on the market at the same time, for a similar price, and while one sells quickly, the other continues to be available? Once we’ve eliminated reasons such as the condition of the house and grounds/ property, real estate taxes, upgrades, etc, this disparity is often due to how potential buyers view, and perceive each property. Factors such as curb appeal, first impressions, etc, may be major factors and considerations, which explain what’s going on. After more than a decade as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, in the State of New York, I feel strongly, that there are times, when having a house professionally staged, may make all the difference! Let’s review some of the reasons, STAGING helps homes sell, and do so, with the aid of mnemonics.

Many home owners look for ways to add value to their homes through improvements. One of the best ways is to have a go at your bathrooms.
The Almighty Bathroom
Today’s bathrooms are wonderful. Showers that “rain” on you, warm air hydrotherapy bathtubs, sinks that look like water worn boulders. You can pamper yourself now and smile on your way to the bank when you sell because homes with good kitchens and bathrooms are in demand. The only caveat is don’t make it so grand that it’s above your neighborhood’s standards. It’s hard to get your money out when yours is the most expensive house in the neighborhood.
Explore and Plan
The scope and style of your bath update needs to fit the style and price range of your home and your family, and you’ll face space constraints. One way to approach the project is to canvass various places that … Read More
